The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force took steps to define AFMC’s role as the designated Servicing MAJCOM for the U.S. Space Force. These actions included a memorandum of understanding providing a strategic overview of support provided to the USSF by the USAF. And a programming plan outlining the functional support AFMC will provide to Airmen assigned to USSF who are supporting USSF installations and missions.

Updated Mask Guidelines for Vaccinated Persons

Beginning July 28, 2021, DoD requires all Service members, Federal employees, onsite contractor employees, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask in an indoor setting in installations and other facilities owned, leased or otherwise controlled by DoD.

Air Force tests child care subletting app at 8 installations

The Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center is testing a mobile app designed to centralize and streamline the subletting of short-term slots at military child development centers this summer. The app, called Kinderspot, earned first place at the 2020 AFIMSC Innovation Rodeo. To design a tool that would benefit military families, AFIMSC partnered with Oddball, a digital services team specializing in transforming government software, and worked closely with the Air Force Services Center to shape the app and processes to align with other child and youth program priorities and efforts. Risk assessment tool for preventing incidents

Peterson-Schriever Garrison observes National Safety Month every June. The risk assessment infographic gives step-by-step instructions on incident prevention. The goal of the observance is to garner enhanced safety awareness highlighting the various work, road and home hazards encountered in everyday life. Annual work center reviews and revisions of the risk assessment process can help keep it useful and fresh moving forward. When enjoying activities such as hiking, mountain climbing or camping, a well thought out plan can help prevent incidents before they happen. Air Force releases updated fitness test score breakdown

Physical fitness testing will resume July 1, 2021. Several changes have been made to the test to include increasing scoring for push-ups and sit-ups from 10 to 20 points each, five-year age groups and the waist measurement no longer being required. The Air Force has also worked on alternative strength and cardiovascular testing exercise options with plans to announce them in the coming weeks. (U.S. Air Force graphic)
