SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 50th Force Support Squadron hosted the Dining Facility Food Show April 18 at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado.
This first-ever event was an opportunity for DFAC leadership to present servicemembers and Civilians new samplings to gauge interest in different food items to enhance the facility's supplemental menu which consist of grab-and-go, desserts, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
"We are trying to improve quality of life for Guardians, Airmen and Civilian personnel," said Lt. Col. Jamie Zimmermann, 50th Force Support Squadron commander, "Food shows are a great way to bring in several different Services approved vendors to provide a variety of new items that could be available for our members in the near future."
Food show attendees were asked to complete a survey as they sampled the various food options. The surveys provided will further assist decision-making effort and serve as a basis on what food should be offered at the facility.
"We like to have feedback from our Airman, Guardians, and Civilian personnel on what food items they prefer," Zimmermann said. "I think the event went very well. The Airman, Guardians, and Civilian personnel were excited and grateful for our efforts to expand food options at Schriever. This food show would not have been possible without the teamwork between Mrs. Jennifer Clare, Mr. Mike Gaboriault, Mrs. Suzanne Strickrodt, the vendors, Services, DFAC staff and the 50 FSS Marketing team — I appreciate all the feedback we have received and continue to receive. The quality of life for Guardians, Airman and Civilian personnel is a priority to the 50 FSS and we look forward to more improvements."
