Option 1: Steps to getting a Visitor Pass (Sponsor attendance required)

Step 1 - Sponsor and visitor must arrive together at the base Visitor Center during normal duty hours, or the base's main gate outside of normal duty hours. The pass recipient must have a REAL ID-compliant license or ID*, and if they intend to drive onto base, they must also provide current proof of insurance and vehicle registration.  Visitors aged 15 or younger do not need passes but must always be accompanied by individuals with proper credentials.

Step 2 - Security Forces will conduct a background check on visitors. Individuals aged 16 and over must provide their SSN and undergo a photo and fingerprint scan for their DBIDS profile.

Step 3 - If approved, requesting individual will be enrolled into DBIDS.

Step 4 - Visit duration, up to 60 days for Peterson and 30 days for Schriever, will be recorded in DBIDS.

Step 5 - The DBIDS Visitor Pass will be printed and wet signed by the visitor.

Option 2: To save you time - DBIDS Pre-Enrollment Process for Visitor Passes

1. Steps for the Visitor (Pre-Enrollment Requests must be submitted 2 business days in advance)
Step 1 - Visitors aged 16 and older requiring a pass can visit https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/ to pre-enroll with DBIDS.

Step 2 - Copy down the alphanumeric code from the DBIDS pre-enrollment page.                                                                    

Step 3 – Send the alphanumeric code, scanned/photocopy of REAL ID Act compliant driver’s license or ID* (front and back), E-mail address, phone number and dates of your visit to your sponsor.    

Note: The sponsor can complete the pre-enrollment registration for the visitor.        

2. Steps for the Sponsor                                                                                                                                

Step 1 - The sponsor will email the following to 21sfs.pass.reg@us.af.mil for Peterson or 50sfspass_idworkflow@us.af.mil for Schriever access:

• Sponsor's Full Name
• Sponsor's Date of Birth
• Sponsors phone number
• Sponsor’s scanned/copy CAC, Retired ID, Dependent ID, DBIDS card, or Veterans Health ID Card (front & back)
• Visitor's alphanumeric code from steps above
• Visitor's email address
• Visitor’s license/ID* scan/copy (front & back)
• Dates of visit

3. Steps for Visitor Pass Pickup – Sponsor escort NOT required if pre-enrolled through DBIDS

Step 1 – Visitor arrives to Peterson or Schriever Visitor Center, or the base’s main gate outside of normal duty hours; visitors receiving a pass must have a REAL ID Act compliant driver’s license or ID*, and if they intend to drive onto base, they must also provide current proof of insurance and vehicle registration. 

Step 2 – Security Forces will conduct a background check on visitors.

Step 3 - If approved, the visitor’s DBIDS profile will be completed with a photo and index finger scan.

All unofficial non-U.S. citizen visitors wishing to access Peterson or Schriever must undergo additional background checks and processing before being issued a visitor's pass.  This includes all non-U.S. citizens who hold a foreign passport and are not a U.S. permanent resident or do not have DoD identification that would otherwise grant them base access. Sponsorship of non-military foreign visitors will only be authorized for installation residents.

Non-military visitors will be required to complete an AF Form 3907 Security Forces Field Interview Data. Sponsors must complete and send this form no later than 72 business hours (3 days) prior to the requested access date to the appropriate email address:

Visitors must be escorted by their sponsor to the Visitor Control Center for a pass.  Non-US Citizens are required to provide additional forms of identification to include: Form I-551 (Permanent Resident Card AKA “Green Card”), Alien Registration Card (photocopies are acceptable), Naturalization or Citizenship Certificate, Form I-94 (Arrival/Departure Record), etc. 

Non-military foreign visitors from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom are exempt from the 3 day notice but still require a visitor's pass for base access.

Peterson and Schriever Space Force Base are closed installations and a proper identification is required to gain access.  Proper identification includes but is not limited to:
- DOD Common Access Cards
- Military Retiree ID cards
- Military Dependent ID cards
- State/Federal Law Enforcement (ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS)
- Sponsored Guest (i.e. DBIDS card holders)
- Contact Visitor Center Staff for other exceptions
- Veterans Health Identification Card **
- Gold Star Family ID Card **

Note: State-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards with the statement of "Not Valid For Federal Purposes," "Federal Limits May Apply" or any other similar phrases can no longer be used for establishing identity.  U.S. Passports or other valid form of photo identification, social security card, and birth certificate may be used. Please refer to the Department of Homeland Security website for the most current state updates.

** Note for Veterans with a Health Identification Card and Gold Star family members, upon the first visit to the installation, you must stop at the VCC during hours of operations enroll for recurring access and receive a DBIDS card, which would allow them to proceed to the gate for entry upon subsequent visits without having to stop again at the VCC. As with all other individuals seeking access to DoD installations, all eligible Veterans and Caregivers must pass a basic on-the-spot background check prior to enrolling, and an automated check each time they enter the installation. Those with felony convictions, felony arrest warrants, or other types of derogatory information related to criminal history or terrorism will not be permitted entry. 

First visit for Veterans and Caregivers (VHIC). 

Upon the first visit to the installation, all Veterans and Caregivers must stop at the Visitor Control Center during hours of operation. Veterans and Caregivers may enroll for recurring access, which would allow them to proceed to the gate for entry upon subsequent visits without having to stop again at the Visitor Control Center.

As with all other individuals seeking access to DoD installations, all eligible Veterans and Caregivers must pass a basic on-the-spot background check prior to enrolling, and an automated check each time they enter the installation. Veterans and Caregivers with felony convictions, felony arrest warrants, or other types of derogatory information related to criminal history or terrorism will not be permitted entry. 

Note:  Depending on the type DoD installation base disqualifiers may differ.

Will the sponsor be notified if their guests have been denied base access? ​
Yes, the Visitor Control Center staff will contact you via email or by the phone number you provided if your guest(s) have or have NOT been granted access.  If your guest(s) do not meet background vetting (Fitness) you may apply for an Exception to Policy for your guest.  For this process contact the Visitor Control Center.

Can I call the VCC for operator services?
The Visitor Control Center is unable to act as an operator service or base locator. We do not have the capability to redirect incoming calls to other offices.

Are unofficial foreign national visitors authorized on Peterson, Schriever, or Cheyenne Mountain unescorted?
Unofficial foreign national visitors are not authorized to be unescorted at any time.  For all foreign nationals that are on unofficial visits (e.g., family members) sponsors must submit required documents for each visitor at least 72 business hours prior to their visit.  Contact the respective Visitor Control Center for a list of required documents. Once properly vetted, Visitor Control Center staff will issue a pass. If you are requesting information regarding official visits by foreign personnel, please contact the Visitor Control Center.

How can I get food delivered on base?
Doordash, Uber Eats, etc. are not authorized on the installation without base credentials. It is recommended to meet food delivery drivers at the Visitor Control Center. 

I lost my CAC. How can I get another one?
Civilian/military member will report to the Visitor Control Center with their valid driver’s license compliant with the REAL ID Act, current proof of registration and insurance with expiration to acquire a pass. If member does not have proof of insurance, we will accept it from the phone. All members must have a valid physical registration, we will not accept digital or copies.

I need a pass longer than 60 days for Peterson/30 days for Schriever.  What can I do?
Long-term passes for cleared individuals, may be issued a DBIDS card.  Please have the sponsor contact the VCC for steps and procedures.
