50th Logistics Readiness Flight

The 50th Logistics Readiness Flight is a component of the 50th Mission Support Group, located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. 

Mission
The 50th LRS's mission is to deliver and sustain unparalleled wing logistics readiness support through professional execution of deployment planning, support agreements, base support planning, supply, vehicle management and cargo screening/scanning ensuring secure restricted area operations and support to the warfighter. The resilient team of proud logistics professionals provides first-class logistics support to effectively execute the Peterson-Schriever Garrison’s mission with focused flexibility in confronting future challenges.

History
The 50th LRS dates back to the activation of the 50th Supply Squadron, 50th Maintenance and Supply Group, Otis AFB, Massachusetts, on June 1, 1949. After two years in the Air Force Reserve as a component of the 50th Fighter Wing, the unit inactivated on July 2, 1951.The unit was reactivated on Jan. 1, 1953 as the 50th Supply Squadron and was assigned to the 50th Combat Support Group, Clovis AFB, New Mexico. The unit then moved to Hahn Air Base, Germany, in August 1953. The squadron moved briefly with the 50th Fighter Wing to Toul-Rosieres AB, France, in June 1956, returning to Hahn AB in September 1959, where it called home for 32 years. The squadron inactivated on Sept. 30, 1991, as part of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe drawdown. To preserve the unit's history, Air Force Space Command ordered the re-designation of the squadron as 50th LRF and activated it June 1, 2003.
