PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. --
The 21st Space Wing is continuing to support those affected by the Waldo Canyon fires by setting up an Emergency Family Assistance Center on base.
Military and Department of Defense employees who have been impacted by the Waldo Canyon wildfire can contact the EFAC for information and assistance with everything from emotional support to relocating.
The EFAC is operated by the Airman and Family Readiness Center, which has a variety of professionally-trained staff members to assist military families. The A&FRC can be reached at (719) 556-6141.
The EFAC can be reached during normal duty hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend by calling (719) 556-0950 or by visiting them at the lodging office. Monday through Friday, the EFAC can also be reached during normal duty hours by calling (719) 556-0455 or 556-0456 or visiting them at the A&FRC.
Members in need of assistance may also contact the 21st SW Crisis Action Team at any time, by calling (719) 554-4400.
The response from volunteers wishing to host evacuees has been overwhelming at Peterson Air Force Base, so additional volunteers are not needed at this time. We are very appreciative of everyone's support.
