PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. - For the first edition of Down to Earth with DEL 7, we’d like to introduce U.S. Space Force Capt. William Battle who currently serves as the S2 director Space Delta 7 - Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance!

The Huntsville, Alabama native comes from a family of retired U.S. Army officers and senior NCOs. Before joining the Space Force, he too served as a Soldier with the U.S. Army and is the first of his family to venture outside of the branch.

As a force multiplier, Battle wants to contribute to the space warfighting mission and the fifth Spacepower Discipline: Military Intelligence. His job plays an integral role in DEL 7's collection management process, which services the greater Space Force community.

“I enjoy providing timely and actionable intel to commanders and warfighters alike,” said Battle. “I also enjoy working with the joint intelligence enterprise and interfacing with different mission areas.”

Battle hopes to receive his doctorate degree, achieve the rank of lieutenant colonel and serve as a squadron commander. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, cooking, spending time with family and anything involving sports.

When asked about what advice he’d give to future interservice transfer Guardians, he said, “Retain the skills and mindset you learned within your past branch of service. Those skills are valuable to your new organization.”
