What is your favorite thing about being in the Air Force?:
My favorite thing about being in the Air Force is the experiences. One in particular, was in the past month when I had the opportunity to be a Security Forces augmentee. I don't think anywhere else I would have the chance to do someone else's job for a month. The flight I worked on, with their patience, the camaraderie, and my involvement with the Condor Crest exercises, made my experience great. I would not trade that for anything.

Why selected?: Airman First Class Melanie Stoer is the epitome of a professional Airman. She was selected for this recognition because she exemplifies Air Force core values. Airman Stoer is a pharmacy technician and is assigned to the 21st Medical Support Squadron. She plays a vital role in filling and dispensing over 260,000 prescriptions annually, serving 25,000 beneficiaries. As the pharmacy point of contact for the Cheyenne Mountain Medical Aid Station, she ensures that the Independent Medical Technicians have all the necessary medications available to treat their patients. Airman Stoer not only does an outstanding job in the Pharmacy but was recognized for her superior performance as a Security Forces Augmentee. In addition, she volunteers for several base and community organizations. She is actively involved in the 21st Space Wing Junior Enlisted Association and currently serves as the Peterson Complex Dorm Council President and Dorm Chief, leading 450 Airmen. Also, she has spent countless hours volunteering as a mentor for a local youth in the Big Sister program. An outstanding professional, she was selected to recite the Airman's Creed at a Team Pete Promotion Ceremony, narrate a Commander's Call and participate in the squadron change of command ceremony.
