Cheyenne Mountain to sponsor CFC 5K Published Oct. 22, 2008 By Capt Tara Opielowski 721st Security Forces Squadron CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN AIR FORCE STATION, Colo. -- Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station will sponsor a 5K race in support of the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Nov. 7, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. The race is open to all personnel from CMAFS or Peterson. There is no charge to run in the race, however donations will be accepted and will go toward the charities of CFC. A CFC representative will accept donations from those who run and any non-runners who would like to donate. The race will begin near Bldg. 313 of CMAFS and will continue up and down South Portal road, one time around Mountain Man Park and end near the starting point at Bldg. 313. Water stations will be set up at the start/end of the race and at the top of South Portal Road. There will be parking near Bldg. 313. Anyone needing to use overflow parking can park in the middle parking lot and be bussed to the starting point from there. The top male and female runner will receive a U.S. flag that was flown over CMAFS and a certificate signed by Col. Brad Gentry, 721st Mission Support Group commander.
