13th ASOS chief
FORT CARSON, Colo. – Chief Master Sgt. Kenneth Czop, (right) 13th Air Support Operations Squadron superintendent and chief enlisted manager, receives his retirement certificate May 17, 2011, at a ceremony on Fort Carson Army Installation, where the squadron is located. The mission of the 13th ASOS, one of the 21st Space Wing’s mission partners, is to enhance the joint warfighter team by providing mission ready Airmen to advise, integrate and control all aspects of close air support. Chief Czop retires after 30 years of service. Chief Master Sgt. Stephen Lucas takes his place as superintendent, where he will advise the commander and staff on matters influencing the health, welfare, morale, readiness and effective utilization of assigned enlisted personnel. The 13th ASOS is aligned with the 4th Infantry Division and provides Tactical Air Control Party personnel, among other things, to support the division, its four brigades and 12 battalions.
