Condor Crest readiness exercise
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Members of the Colorado Spring Police Department SWAT unit prepare to move forward and confront a lone-hostage taker who had just “killed” two Airmen, all part of a simulated active shooter and hostage scenario during this month’s Condor Crest exercise. The SWAT team was brought in to the exercise to provide hands-on experience coordinating with local law enforcement during a crisis event. Condor Crest is a quarterly exercise designed to test and evaluate base readiness for real-word events. (U.S. Air Force photo/Michael Golembesky)
