PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- An EC-121T, one of 16 aircraft belonging to the Peterson Air and Space Museum, as it sits on the Peterson Air Force Base Air Park facing Pikes Peak. The aircraft was an airborne early warning radar surveillance aircraft, manufactured by Lockheed in Burbank, Calif., and was delivered to the U.S. Air Force on Jan. 18, 1955. U.S. Air Force aircrews adopted the civil nickname "Connie" as reference. The Peterson museum is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; admission is free. The airpark is open for viewing at all times. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Jessica Hines)
