Thrift shop
PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Pat Tygard, left, and Frosso Reed, center, volunteers at the Peterson Thrift Shop, had a steady stream of customers April 5 when the shop re-opened for business. The shop had been closed for three months due to a burst water pipe. The long line at the checkout counter and the overflowing parking lot were an indication that the shop, which sells donated items and operates as a consignment store, was missed. The shop, which is owned and operated by the Peterson Spouses’ Club, had an impressive inventory for its first day back in business. Although the store had been closed, donations kept coming in those three months. The Thrift Shop, Building 615 off Otis Street and Wurtsmith Avenue, is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Saturday of the month. Hours of consignment are 9:30 to noon Tuesday to Friday. For information, call the thrift shop at 596-4463. (U.S. Air Force photo/Monica Mendoza)
