PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – The Language Enabled Airmen Program is a career-spanning program that identifies, selects, educates and trains Airmen who have proficiencies in foreign languages to accomplish specific Air Force and Department of Defense missions. According to the Air Force Culture and Language Center, participation in the Language Enable Airman Program is voluntary and is available for active duty officer and enlisted Airmen in most Air Force specialty codes. Avoiding the mess of cold stress

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, COLO. - The wind chill chart above includes a frostbite indicator, showing the points where temperature, wind speed and exposure time will produce frostbite on Airmen. A temperature of 0 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 15 mph will produce a wind chill temperature of -19 F. Under these conditions, an Airmen’s exposed skin can freeze in 30 minutes. 2018 Air Force Defender Challenge

Fourteen Security Forces teams from U.S. Air Force major commands, Great Britain and Germany will be testing their skills in realistic weapons scenarios, simulated dismounted operations and grueling combat endurance events as part of the 2018 Air Force Defender Challenge, to be held Sept. 10-13 at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. The team with the most combined points wins the coveted Defender Challenge Championship Trophy. Great Britain has held the trophy since winning it at the last Defender Challenge in 2004.

New North Gate Hours

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – The north gate at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., has new hours of operation as of April 9, 2018. North Gate New Hours

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – Peterson Air Force Base patrons can expect to see changes to the north gate’s hours of operation come April 9, 2018.
