PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Agencies from Peterson AFB will convene Monday for the Waldo Canyon Fire Support Fair at 2:30 p.m. in the R.P. Lee Youth Center.
The event's purpose is to provide Department of Defense employees and their families who are affected by the wildfire with information, services and support.
Representatives from the civilian and military personnel offices, Emergency Family Affairs Control Center, Airman and Family Readiness Center, finance, legal, TRICARE and others will be on hand to offer information and services to those in attendance.
Free childcare is available during the support fair.
Questions about the support fair or assistance for those displaced by the wildfires can be directed to the emergency family assistance control center at (719) 556-0455 or (719) 556-0456 during normal duty hours; or (719) 556-7983 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Also, at this time, the base fitness center is reopened for normal operations. Gym 2 and the aerobics room will continue to be unavailable to fitness center customers to provide lodging areas for evacuees or emergency responders as necessary. Aerobics classes, such as Zumba, will resume at a later date. Spin classes will be available as part of normal operations.
