During July and August 2016, the following military justice and administrative actions occurred within the 21st Space Wing. The actions listed below are tools for commanders to use in maintaining good order and discipline in the unit, rehabilitating Airmen, and punishing misconduct.

Nonjudicial Punishments (Articles 15):
A member’s commander found that a senior airman committed three violations of larceny, in violation of Article 121, Uniform Code of Military Justice. As punishment, the commander reduced the senior airman in grade to E-3, ordered the member to forfeit $1,041 pay per month for two months (suspended for six months), and reprimanded the member.

A member’s commander found that a staff sergeant wrongfully used marijuana, in violation of Article 112a, UCMJ. As punishment, the commander reduced the staff sergeant to the grade of E-4, ordered the member to forfeit $1,241 pay for one month (suspended for six months), and reprimanded the member.

A member’s commander found that a staff sergeant was absent without leave for less than three days and was derelict in duty, in violation of Articles 86 and 92, UCMJ. As punishment, the commander reduced the staff sergeant to the grade of E-4 and reprimanded the member.

General Court-Martial:
A military judge found an airman not guilty of a charge and two specifications of sexual assault, in violation of Article 120, UCMJ.

Administrative Discharges:
Two airmen first class and an airman were involuntarily discharged on the basis of Misconduct: minor disciplinary infractions. Each Airmen’s service was characterized as Under Honorable Conditions (General).

An airman basic was involuntarily discharged on the bases of Drug Abuse and a Pattern of Misconduct. The Airman’s service was characterized as Under Honorable Conditions (General).

A staff sergeant was involuntarily discharged for Unsatisfactory Performance for failing to meet minimum fitness standards. The Airman’s service was categorized as Honorable.
