The R.P. Lee Youth Center here is currently under construction.

A concern with the ceiling on the second floor of the building arose after the replacement of the building’s new roof was completed. The ceiling is scheduled to be removed and replaced.

The construction is expected to take approximately 30 days from Aug. 22, 2016. During this time period, the front door and lobby will be inaccessible.

“For our customers’ convenience, we are asking School Age Program patrons and those who need to access the front desk to please enter and exit the building through the front facing double doors at the west end of the building,” said Karen Morgan, R.P. Lee Youth Center director. “All Open Recreation patrons should enter through the gym doors facing the parking lot.”

The R.P. Lee Youth Center, operated by the 21st Force Support Squadron, services Peterson AFB, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station and Schriever AFB.

The youth center offers a variety of programs: School Age Program, Youth Sports, Pre-Teen and Teen Programs and Instructional Classes. Each program offers children the opportunity to participate in activities that are of interest to them and provide a positive learning experience.

The primary phone number for the R.P Lee Youth Center is (719) 556-5235 during this time.
