While many people warm up their first cup of coffee and check their email in the morning, the 21st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight warms up in a different fashion.

The flight preps their muscles by flipping a 300-pound tire down Duluth Avenue, just the beginning of an intense physical fitness program.

The EOD Flight participates in physical training five days a week, and two of those days they train with the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron.

"Team building is a large part of our PT program and we incorporate it as much as we can," said Master Sgt. Jeremy Raine, 21st EOD Flight chief, adding that EOD is a very physical job, but every Air Force member should strive to be as fit as possible.

In addition to PT, the flight reviews career-field specific training, a must for their profession.

"Our mission here is to provide emergency response to any explosive ordnance, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threat," said Raine. In addition to Peterson, the flight supports Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Schriever AFB, the U.S. Air Force Academy, Buckley AFB, U.S. Secret Service, and combatant commanders in support of OIF and OEF.
