Comprehensive Airman Fitness is a lifestyle and culture within our Air Force, and Wingman Day allows a chance refocus on Air Force core values, balance resiliency skills and get to know fellow Airmen.

For Team Pete's latest Wingman Day held Sept. 5, 21st Space Wing units conducted resiliency skills training, held potlucks, and conducted physical resiliency events to encourage camaraderie and unit cohesiveness.

At Thule AB, Airmen hiked Mount Dundas as part of their activities, which also included a visit from two of the 21st Space Wing's master resiliency trainers, Master Sgts. Walt McClung and Rico Galdeano.

Both MRTs spent more than a week at Thule AB, instructing separate resilience sessions during Wingman Day, conducting a three-day resilience training assistance workshop, and training First-Term Airman Center students during a full day of instruction.

McClung, assigned to the 21st Force Support Squadron, said how impressed he was by the sense of community at Thule AB, a feeling that resonated through the entire installation.

As Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James recently stated, "(Comprehensive Airman Fitness) is a lifestyle and culture that focuses on making sound choices while building a thriving Air Force comprised of comprehensively balanced individuals that are engaged in becoming mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually fit."

CAF emphasizes the Wingman concept of Airmen and families taking care of themselves and each other, and empowers Airmen to hold each other accountable through Air Force core values.
