If you are the type of person that likes to save money, then the Community of Excellence card recently introduced by the 21st Force Support Squadron is just for you.

With discounts available at The Club, bowling center, Outdoor Recreation and many other on-base locations, card holders are certain to have a hard time not finding a good time at a discount.

Margie Arnold, 21st FSS marketing office, said that although card use requires access to Peterson AFB, the benefits are certain to pay for its cost many times over.

"On-base activities are often a second thought for a lot people," said Arnold. "With the Community of Excellence card, people have the opportunity to not only have an excellent experience on-base, but at a discount."

Arnold added that although there is a rank-based fee for the card, the savings offered will allow the cost to be quickly recouped in the form of free and discounted services.

Josh Soldan, Outdoor Recreation manager and avid outdoorsman, said he wished something like the Community of Excellence card existed during his active duty years in the Army.

"It's a great way to get active in the community," said Soldan. "Once people realize the myriad services we provide, I think they'll be excited to see everything we offer and keep coming back for more."

With summer quickly approaching, the Community of Excellence card will become quite handy for those itching to stretch their golf legs or cool off in the aquatics center.

Cards are good for one year and can be purchased at the following locations:
· Aero Club, Hangar 133, 556-4310
· Bowling Center, Bldg. 406, 556-4607
· Fitness Center, Bldg. 560, 556-4462
· Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 640, 556-4867, option 1
· RP Lee Youth Center, Bldg. 1555, 556-7220
· Silver Spruce Golf Course, Bldg. 1054, 556-7414
· The Club/Stripes Pub/Colorado Pizza Company, Bldg. 1013, 556-4181 or 574-8863 for the Colorado Pizza Company

The Community of Excellence Card is currently exclusive to on-base residents. There are plans to introduce other versions of this card to support Vosler NCO Academy students as well as off-base residents in the near future.
