Through the end of April, Team Pete and Schriever AFB will hold a combined clothing drive to collect gently used children's clothes and toys, which will later be distributed at the R.P. Lee Youth Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 2.

1st Lt. Luke McIlroy, 21st Force Support Squadron sustainment services flight commander, explained this is the third year of the clothing drive and has been extremely successful and well received in years past.

"This is a program sponsored by the spouses' club and is designed to benefit the families of Peterson and Schriever," said McIlroy.

Senior Airman Alyssia Hawkins, 21st FSS Force Management journeyman, volunteered to help sort clothes for the event last year and plans to be involved again this year.

"It's nice to be able to help families and their kids," said Hawkins.

She added that volunteering is something she has always enjoyed and being able to give back to the families who support active-duty Airmen means a lot to her.

For those interested in contributing, donations are being collected at the child development centers, youth center, library, 21st Medical Group clinic lobby, 21st Mission Support Group building 350 lobby, chapel lobby, fitness center lobby, or the Tierra Vista community center.

The event is open to all military ID card holders, and clothing and toys left after the event will be donated to the Airman's Attic.
