COP’S CORNER – AUGUST 2015

During August, the 21st Security Forces Squadron, along with facility parking wardens issued 117 traffic citations. Speed violations comprised of the majority of the citations. Drivers were suspended for various offenses including excessive speed and failing to have the proper documents in order to operate a vehicle on a DoD installation.

Traffic Information ¬- Individuals who accept the privilege of driving on Peterson AFB are deemed to have given their consent to evidential tests for alcohol or other drug content of their blood, breath, or urine when lawfully stopped, apprehended, or cited for any offense allegedly committed while driving or in physical control of a motor vehicle. Refusing to take or complete a lawfully requested chemical test will result in the revocation of driving privileges on DoD installations. 

Calls for Service - Security Forces responded to about 141 calls for service during August, including:
- 53 human error alarm activations
- 16 medical responses 
- 5 motor vehicle accidents

Did You Know? - If your installation access credential is lost or stolen you must immediately report the loss or theft to the local Security Forces unit and MPS to ensure the card is not used to gain access to the installation.
