Start planning now for the biggest military snow sports weekend at Keystone Resort January 22-24. SnoFest features a variety of activities geared toward members of the military community and their guests, including competitive ski and snowboard racing, a fantastic party, family fun at the Nordic Center and more. Discounts on lodging, lift tickets, party tickets and activities on and off the slopes make SnoFest a fun and affordable winter vacation option. SnoFest is hosted by the Force Support squadrons at USAF Academy, Buckley, F.E. Warren, Peterson and Schriever Air Force bases.

Variety of Accommodations Set Aside
A wide variety of discounted accommodations have been set aside at Keystone - hotel rooms, studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom condos are available for booking now. Rates at Keystone start at just $138 per night (not including tax and surcharge). For the best rates and availability, book your reservations as early as possible by calling Keystone at 1-800-258-0437. Mention Peterson AFB and the SnoFest group code GC7PAR.

Party Tickets Sell Out Fast
Join us on Saturday, January 23, for a fabulous Volksfest themed after-ski party. Party tickets must be purchased by Jan. 15, at Peterson's Information, Tickets and Tours office. No tickets are sold at the door. Parties of 10 may reserve an entire table by purchasing a block of 10 tickets at once. All other seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Last year, partygoers took home thousands of dollars worth of prizes and giveaways. The party includes an outstanding all-you-can-eat buffet, music, entertainment, face painting, caricatures and photo booths. Tickets are $22.99/adults, $20.99/E1-E4, and $10.99/ages 5-12. Children age 4 and under are free if they do not occupy a seat. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the buffet is served from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Because seating is limited and tickets often sell out well in advance, partygoers should get their tickets as early as possible.

Discounted Lift Tickets
Lift tickets for SnoFest are also available at ITT, and the discounts are significant. An adult SnoFest lift ticket is $66. Lift tickets for E1-E4, USAFA cadets and Prep School students are $56 and lift tickets for children ages 12 and younger are $41. Kids ski free for SnoFest guests staying two or more nights in Keystone owned lodging.
Single Airman Program Initiative

Peterson's ITT and the Single Airman Program Initiative offer half-price lift tickets - just $33! - and free ski/snowboard rental for SnoFest weekend to eligible single airmen who are dorm residents and airmen stationed here at Peterson AFB. Call ITT at (719) 556-4867, Option 6.

Discounted Equipment Rentals
All of Peterson Outdoor Recreation's ski and snowboard rentals for SnoFest will be discounted to $20 for adult, $15 for child. Pick up equipment Jan. 21/22 and return by noon Jan. 25. Call Outdoor Recreation at (719) 556-4867, Option 1.

Activities for non-skiers
Non-skiers attending SnoFest are never left out in the cold. Available activities include ice skating, tubing, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, scenic gondola rides, dog sled tours, sleigh rides, cross country skiing, wine tasting and much more. For more information, visit www.mysnofest.com or call Keystone at 1-800-354-4386. Sign up for the wine tasting at (719) 556-4867.

Enter the Cardboard Derby
Saturday's Cardboard Derby is, arguably, the weekend's most fun event. Families, squadrons, teams and individuals build snow racers with just cardboard, tape, paint, paper and rope to race down the slope. Build your sled at home and bring it to the mountain, or build it on-site from provided materials. It's not too early to begin creating your entry.
