Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, was an incredible day of community, connection, and fun. Residents gathered to enjoy activities, meet new people, and strengthen the bonds that make Peterson Space Force Base a supportive and resilient community. Col. Klock, SBD 1 commander, and members of the SBD 1 leadership team joined in, helping kick off the event with opening remarks that emphasized the importance of building relationships with our neighbors.

This event was more than just a good time—it was part of the city of Colorado Springs' 1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings initiative, a larger effort to encourage neighbors to connect with one another to address social isolation and loneliness. When residents know their neighbors, they have a community to lean on during challenging times.

There was also an Information Fair where residents connected with the Fire Department, Security Forces, and other key support agencies to learn about vital resources available to them.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this day special!
