Another successful year for CFC Published Nov. 21, 2006 By Staff Sgt. Lea Rodriguez 21st Space Wing PETERSON AFB, Colo. -- The Combined Federal Campaign is coming to a close after another successful year of campaigning. To date, the wing has brought in $223,560.13, exceeding the wing goal by more than $8,500. Key workers will no longer be out and about actively soliciting, but donations will be accepted until Dec. 15. "I was concerned in the earlier weeks that we would possibly not reach our goal," said Capt. Jason May, executive officer for 21st Maintenance Group and the installation co-project officer for the campaign. Up until one week ago, the wing was $23,000 short of making its goal. "The (readiness inspections) held at the same time as the CFC Campaign really posed some challenges for key workers and group project officers," said Capt. Ida Flores, 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron deputy installation deployment officer and installation co-project officer for CFC, who added that 25 percent of the wing's population donated to the campaign so far this year. "The wing did not have as successful a participation rate as I'd originally hoped for," said Col. Jay Santee, 21st SW commander, "but, I am pleased that donations have surpassed expectations."
