STRIPES Pub is all fun and games, savory food and tasty drinks, laid back and unruffled.
STRIPES, a cool new pub, opens at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and festivities at The Club, Building 1013. See for yourself what the excitement is about. There will be door prizes, and The Amazing Base will host a special treasure hunt worth $100 at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the opening.

STRIPES boasts seven HDTVs and Direct TV/NFL Network, two pool tables with bright red felt covers, and sports team logos on the walls. Football Frenzy will grip audiences all day Sundays and Monday evenings.

"Perhaps one of the best features we have to offer is the Direct TV/NFL Network," said Mr. Curtis Clayton, STRIPES Pub and The Club manager. "This allows us to broadcast any out-of-market NFL game."

While STRIPES looks like a flashy sports pub, it's more than that. It's a place to play games as well as watch them. STRIPES is equipped with high-tech games such as PlayStation 3, Wii, two comfy over-stuffed leather sofas, colorful art deco lighting suspended above the bar, a dance floor, and pockets of seating and tables for games, eating and conversation. Put on your game face. Meet your competition in STRIPES and challenge them to a high-tech showdown.

STRIPES Pub dishes up popular lunch and dinner meals that include a juicy prime rib sandwich, a classic grilled hamburger, breaded and deep fried wings with a spicy sauce on the side, a flat iron steak grilled to perfection, southern fried catfish, a southwestern salad with your choice of seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken, the big daddy McPhilly sandwich, grilled chicken breast, lightly breaded and fried chicken tenders and nightly specials. The menu will evolve, adding new favorites determined by patrons' tastes, said Mr. Clayton.

For beer connoisseurs, STRIPES offers nearly 100 different beers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, from all over the world, including a selection from Colorado.

"We're creating a Beers of the World Club, something that will encourage trying different types and tastes of beers," Mr. Clayton said. Drink 30 different beers and get a free appetizer; drink 60 different beers and get a free dinner; drink 95 different beers and have your name placed on the STRIPES wall of fame. STRIPES also offers wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

Stripes Pub is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, and closed Saturday. Call 556-4181 for information.
