Airmen SRB, CSRB January reenlistment bonuses retroactive Published Feb. 14, 2008 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- All eligible Airmen in Air Force Specialty Codes with a selective reenlistment bonus or those with a critical skills retention bonus who reenlisted Jan. 1 or later are authorized retroactive payment effective immediately. The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act., signed by President Bush Jan. 28, provided authorization. Affected Airmen do not need to take any action according to Chief Master Sgt. Christine Williams, Skills Management branch chief. "The Military Personnel Flights or Elements have the responsibility of notifying Airmen whose SRBs and CSRBs were affected by the NDAA. The MPFs will open case files and the rest of the process is automatic." For Airmen who reenlist after today and are eligible for an SRB or CSRB, "It's business as usual; they're not affected," Chief Williams said. The SRB and CSRB bonus programs expired Dec. 31, 2007 because Congress had not yet approved the fiscal 2008 NDAA. The current list of SRBs is dated Dec. 15, 2007 and is available on the Air Force Personnel Center's Web site.
