Spinning off the popularity of the PBS program 'Antiques Road Show,' the 21st Services Squadron has decided to host a road show, too. This time, instead of people coming to the 21st SVS, the unit would go to the people.

"The Road Show is our way of reaching the scattered elements of the Peterson Complex - Pete East, Cheyenne Mountain, and Buildings 1, 2 and 3. We even took a road show to building 350, Mission Support Group," said Dan Schofield, 21st Services Squadron deputy director. "We arrive in the morning and set up so that we have a grill going and hamburgers and hot dogs ready by lunch time. When folks drift outside on their lunch hour, they can get a quick, cheap lunch and learn all about Services activities and what we have to offer. For some of these folks, it's their first real exposure to Services activities."

Each activity has an information booth and some game or activity to involve visitors. For example, Silver Spruce Golf Course sets up a golf putting game, Outdoor Recreation takes a canoe, raft and skiing equipment, the Peterson Bowling Center sets up a traveling bowling lane, and so on.

"In order to have people visit all of the Services tables, we arrange for a great prize, something someone would love to have," said Warren Schroeder, 21st SVS marketing director. "Then we create a Road Show passport, which is really a punch card with all of the Services activities listed on it. Each time a visitor goes to an information booth, the Services person punches the card. A completely punched card is eligible for the prize drawing."

The squadron had so many positive comments from visitors about its Road Show that the squadron is looking to do it again this year. "Perhaps this fall, after LeMay and folks return from summer vacations," said Mr. Schofield.
