Cheyenne mountain members learn about going ‘green’
Roy Audibert is presented the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station Conservation Award by Robert Wynn, 721st Mission Support Group deputy commander April 22. Mr. Audibert submitted the winning conservation idea that involves retrofitting lights in industrial areas, projected to save CMAFS $11,000 a year. The event helped to raise awareness of environmental issues and energy conservation techniques through demonstration booths sponsored by local organizations and businesses. The demonstrations were geared toward what individuals could do personally to conserve on energy. The installation, located in southern Colorado, operates, maintains, secures, sustains, mobilizes, tests and controls the worldwide warning and surveillance system for North America. The Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment weapon system is airborne, land- and space-based and can sense and report on all activities in air and space. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
