Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to the safety of Military Families, Tierra Vista Communities at Peterson recently completed a number of safety inspections in all of its Peterson AFB homes.
As part of the initiative, all 493 homes at Peterson were inspected for any potential safety hazards. In particular, window and mini blind cords were examined.

The inspection took Tierra Vista Communities Maintenance Team one week to complete and included inspecting every window in each room of the home. Any knots were untied and blind cords cut short in order to prevent any future loops from occurring. Residents were given two days notice in advance of the inspection of their home.

"Resident safety is of the utmost importance to Tierra Vista Communities and Actus Lend Lease," said Steve Boothe, Actus Lend Lease safety operations director. "We want our residents to feel at home in our communities but we also want to give them the sense of peace that comes with knowing that someone else is looking out for their safety as well. This inspection is just one of the many safety initiatives that will be taking place at TVC, each one designed to maintain the safety and satisfaction of our residents."

Tierra Vista Communities, the public and private venture partnership created between the Department of the Air Force and developer Actus Lend Lease at Peterson AFB includes 597 new homes, all of which will adhere to rigorous safety standards before a resident moves in.
