The Peterson Education Center received The Nathan Altschuler Award for Excellence in Educational Programs for 2007 at the Air Force Space Command level. The award is an Air Force-wide recognition to education service centers that demonstrate the highest level of achievement in providing and managing voluntary educational programs during the fiscal year.

The Education Services and Human Resources Flight supports more than 6,000 active duty personnel throughout Peterson, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Schriever AFB, U.S. Northern Command and tenant units including Thule Air Base, Greenland.

Their outreach programs have been expanded to reach more than 300 individuals monthly through briefings, a weekly education newsletter and commander's call briefings, many of which took place in the modernized and upgraded computer labs and classrooms.

The center received a Community College of the Air Force recognition award for outstanding achievement for most graduates in Air Force Space Command with a total of 241 members receiving their degrees during the October 2006 and April 2007 graduating classes.

In addition to these accomplishments, outstanding customer service continues to be the cornerstone of the Peterson Education Services Center.
