First Knight Published Oct. 20, 2008 721st Security Forces Squadron PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Staff Sgt. Danny Hayter was selected for this week's First Knight award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day. Name: Staff Sgt. Danny Hayter Unit: 721st Security Forces Squadron Duty Title: Non-commissioned officer in charge of Electronic Security Systems Hometown: Houston, Texas Time Assigned to Unit: 3 years and 5 months Hobbies: Coaching Colorado Parks and Recreation pee wee football, listening to music, and going to the gym Time in Service: 12 Years and one month Favorite Music: Classic R&B Last Good Book/Movie: "Righteous Kill" If you were Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force for the day, how would you change the Air Force?: I'd like to talk to as many young Airmen as possible to get their opinion of what is needed for them to do their job. I believe getting the Airmen to buy into the mission is key to its success. I would channel this information to officers who would be responsible for finding solutions to the issues. The only thing I would ensure happened is that all changes would go through Airmen before any ideas were implemented. Why he was selected for this award?: "Staff Sgt. Hayter has been at the forefront of a new alarm system being built and approved for the Protection Level-1 resource at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station. He has met this challenge head-on, continuing to ensure the project is on schedule and on budget. Staff Sgt. Hayter continues to lead the way for the 721st SFS by volunteering his off-duty time to coach younger children, teaching them team work while building their self-esteem." - Mr. Scott Deeds, 721st SFS chief of plans and programs
