First Knight Published Jan. 20, 2009 PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - -- Ms. Connie Schlosberg was selected for this week's First Knight award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day. Name: Connie J. Schlosberg Unit: 21st Space Wing Project Management Division Duty Title: Administrative Assistant Hometown: Allentown, Penn. Time in Service: 8 Years Time assigned to the unit: 7 Years Hobbies: Writing poetry, dancing, and creating art. Favorite Music: Growing up in a musical family, I'm open to most music but Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite bands. Last good movie: Slum Dog Millionaire - I like independent films. Last good book read: I've read so many over the past year, but I really enjoyed reading "The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson." If you were Chief of Staff of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?: Although changes are difficult to accomplish in one day - even for the Chief of Staff - I would look to improve and streamline the Air Force's records management process. The current system is too cumbersome and confusing for its organizations to use. There is a need for standardization and conformity; however, individual organizations should be able to customize their file plans and processes to accommodate the organization's needs. These needs are not always all-inclusive to the rest of the Air Force. Why selected?: Connie is PMD's administrative assistant, and her efforts result in first-rate administrative support. She manages and tracks all PMD suspenses ensuring timely submissions. Her correspondence review is second to none, and her time keeping is flawless. She is also responsible for the organization's files, and she's currently concentrating on ensuring the PMD's electronic files are in compliance with all required guidance. She recently completed an Associate's Degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University and is aggressively pursuing a Bachelor's in Letters, Arts and Sciences, Organizational Leadership. She is invaluable to the PMD organization. Stephanie Edquid, Director, 21 SW Program Management Division
