SnoFest 2009

Keystone, Colo., played host to more than 3,500 military members and their families during the 19th annual SnoFest weekend, Jan. 30 through Feb. 1.

The annual event is a winter sports weekend hosted by Peterson, Buckley, Schriever and F.E. Warren Air Force Bases, United States Air Force Academy, and Fort Carson. 

Each year SnoFest offers a variety of activities geared only for members of the military community and their guests, including competitive ski and snow board racing, theme parties and other activities. Discounts on lodging, lift tickets, equipment and more make SnoFest the most fun and affordable winter vacation option. 

This year Peterson AFB had the fastest combined snowboard and ski times which garnered acceptance of the SnoFest Commander's Cup by Col. Jimmy McMillian, 10th Air Base Wing commander and Colonel Emily Buckman, 21st Mission Support Group commander. Lt .Col. Robert Romer, 21st Force Support Squadron commander, passed on the SnoFest Commander's Cup to Col. Jay Raymond, 21st Space Wing commander during a wing standup meeting.
