The Air Force released its new toll-free Equal Opportunity hotline designed to serve active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilians ensure unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment concerns are quickly identified and addressed.

"Callers can receive assistance without disclosing who they are," said Tech. Sgt. Rodney Reed, 21st Space Wing Equal Opportunity office.

To access the hotline, Peterson Airmen may call 1-888-231-4058 or dial Defense Service Number 665-5241.

The new number streamlines the process by which individuals can speak with an EO professional at the Air Force Personnel Center to advise and assist with their concerns and issues. This will help enforce the Air Force "zero tolerance" policy for unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment and will increase the effectiveness of anti discrimination and whistle blower protection laws.

"This hotline is one of the many ways the Air Force - and by extension, Peterson - provides its Airmen in effectively addressing equal opportunity complaints," said Col. Wayne Monteith, 21st Space Wing vice commander. "We all know there is no room in today's Air Force for any type of harassment or discrimination and I would hope that anyone even suspecting that they've been harassed or discriminated against would contact our EO staff here or take advantage of this hotline.

For more information, Peterson customers may call 210-565-2601, DSN 665-2601 or visit AFPC's "Ask" Web site and search "Equal Opportunity."
