Tierra Vista Communities recently began construction on a roundabout located on Peterson at the intersection of Stewart and Malmstrom Avenues.

Once complete the new structure will smooth traffic flow on base.

Starting May 18, all traffic is being diverted to the south side of W. Stewart Avenue for one week. This diversion will allow for grading and temporary paving of the north side of West Stewart Avenue.

The roundabout's first phase of construction, which involved installing new storm sewers, concrete curbing and paving, is complete. The first part of phase three begins next week and involves traffic interruptions.

In the second portion of phase three, teams will be working on the south side of W. Stewart Avenue, installing the new alignment for the roundabout. All traffic will be diverted to the newly paved north side of W. Stewart Avenue at this time. Malmstrom Avenue will remain closed throughout this phase of construction. Residents may access the golf course by way of the main detour, which has been in place for the approximately three weeks.

Tierra Vista Communities and Actus Lend Lease are anticipating this phase of construction to last approximately one and a half months.

During all phases, TVC will communicate scheduled road closures and traffic interruptions through the base Web site and the TVC Web site, www.tierra-vista.com. Detour maps will also be displayed at various locations on base.

TVC urges Peterson Airmen to be cautious while travelling areas of construction. Anyone with questions or concerns may contact a TVC representative at 597-7200.
