The 21st Space Wing held a Building Healthy Relationships Focus Day presentation May 11.

The themes for the focus day were commitment and good decision making.

"Healthy relationships are key to happiness and to one's overall well-being. If you have a good personal relationship at home, you will perform better at work - it is all related," said Maj. Scott Maynard, 21st Medical Operations Squadron and action officer for the day's events. "It is an unprecedented focus day - in eight years I have not seen a day devoted to relationship building."

The presentation, held in Hangar 140, provided about 1,400 attendees with lessons to better manage professional and personal relationships, along with tools to combat stresses in other areas of life.

Taking care of relationships is a vital goal, especially at home.

"I want to encourage you to take care of your personnel and family," said Col. Wayne Monteith, 21st Space Wing vice commander. "Taking care of your family should be one of your top goals in life. If not, you had better re-evaluate your priorities."

The wing also held several break-out sessions which focused on self care, stress management, money management and domestic violence prevention.
