First Knight Published May 26, 2009 By the 21st Force Support Squadron PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Donna Burrill, 21st Force Support Squadron was selected for the week's First Knight award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day. The First Knight is awarded by each unit's leadership to an Airman who is deserving of recognition for their outstanding mission support, adherence to the Air Force's Core Values, and who epitomizes the vision of the 21st Space Wing. Name: Donna Burrill Duty title: Commercial sponsorship coordinator Unit: 21st Force Support Squadron Hometown: Great Falls, Mont. Time working for the Air Force: Nine years Hobbies: Golf, gardening, & antiquing Favorite music: Country-what else would you expect from a Montana girl? Last good book read: I'd like to say something like "The Canterbury Tales" because it makes me sound so well-read, but in reality it was probably a trashy novel Has working for the Air Force changed your life? I come at this from a unique perspective because being around the Air Force is the only life I've ever known. My dad was in the Air Force, as was my husband, so the real change to my life would be if I wasn't working for the Air Force. What is your favorite aspect of working for the Air Force? I'm surrounded by people who truly care about the welfare of the military and their family members, and I'm very proud to be a part of that. What do you like most about your position? I thrive on the challenge of adding the special enhancements to our events. I love the idea of knowing that what I do makes a difference. Why selected: "Donna was selected as First Knight because Donna is a leader in her field, and has formed successful partnerships with the major corporations in the area for the benefit of all of the Peterson military community. Potential partners can contact her at (719) 556-4977," said Mr. Warren Schroeder, 21FSS Marketing director.
