First term Airmen proud to wear uniform Published July 10, 2009 By Peterson First Term Airman Center class PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The First Term Airman Center is a two-week program that plays an important role in transitioning Airmen from a training environment to their first duty station. The following was written by a recent FTAC class. I am an American Airman When wearing the Air Force uniform, my civilian life of the past is non-existent. I have chosen to hold myself at a higher standard than the rest of the world, and for that reason I feel an accomplishment which only military members can experience. My uniform is not just camouflage clothing, it is a symbol of legacy and values reminding myself and all others that I am a proud military member serving during a time of war when others wouldn't. I am an Airman using the best of my ability in the best interest of myself and my country to serve for any mission put in front of me.
