PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The Colorado Springs Area Chief's Group recently awarded a coveted Chief's Choice Award to Airman 1st Class Aarial N. Vallejo from the 21st Comptroller Squadron.

Airman Vallejo was nominated for the award by Chief Master Sgt. Scott Barbier, USAF Academy Band, for her customer service and professionalism.

"She dropped everything she was doing and went out of her way to help me process a Centrally Billed Account Card payment," Chief Barbier said. "Her customer-focused attitude, professionalism and military bearing were absolutely superb!"

Chief Barbier and Chief Master Sgt. Treassia Hall, president of the Chief's Group, presented the award to Airman Vallejo at the Chief's Group meeting July 16.

Airman Vallejo is an accounting technician who enlisted in the Air Force in February 2007. She has been assigned to Peterson since August 2007. As part of the Chief's Choice Award package, she received a coin and certificate on behalf of the Chief's Group.
