First Knight Published Aug. 5, 2009 821st Security Forces Squadron THULE AIR BASE, Greenland -- Senior Airman Geoffrey Witter was selected for this week's First Knight award. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen and civilians each week for the work they do every day. Name: Senior Airman Geoffrey Witter Unit: 821st Security Forces Squadron Duty title: Security Forces Control Center (Desk Sergeant) Time in service: 3 years Time assigned to unit: 8 months Hometown: Kingman, Ariz. Hobbies: Guitar, music, video games, movies Favorite music: Hard rock, metal, classic rock Last good movie: Body of Lies Last good book: "Generation Kill," by Evan Wright What's your favorite thing about being in the Air Force? The people I get to work with who are by far some of the funniest, most trustworthy people I could ever ask to work with. My second favorite thing about the Air Force is when I go home on leave; I have so many people coming up to me and saying "thank you for your service and for what you do." It really gives me a lot of pride in what I do, and it makes all the time away from friends and family seem worth it. Supervisor quote: "Senior Airman Witter distinguished himself from his peers by being that "go-to Airman" when the task has to be done in detail and in a timely manner. Airman Witter is the flight's lead controller, trainer and security response team member. His expertise and attention to detail as a trainer led to certification of three Security force members fresh from training. He is always at the top of his game and first in line to step up to a challenge." - Staff Sgt. Sidley Young, 821st Security Forces Squadron
