6th SWS commander greets president
CAPE COD AIR FORCE STATION, Mass. – Lt. Col. Max Lantz, 6th Space Warning Squadron commander, greeted President Barack Obama and his family upon arrival by Air Force One at Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station Aug. 23. From the airfield on the Massachusetts Military Reservation, Marine One helicopter pilots flew the First Family to Martha's Vineyard for vacation. The 6th SWS, located at Cape Cod Air Force Station, is a geographically separated unit of the 21st Space Wing and uses the Pave PAWS radar to guard North America's East Coast against ICBMs and sea-launched missiles.
