Renee Campbell 21st Security Forces Squadron commander PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Peterson recently hired its first air provost manager at the 21st Security Forces Squadron. Peterson's air provost manager is the 21st SFS's senior civilian and provides guidance on physical security, law enforcement, force protection, investigations, military working dogs, training and other issues. Additionally, the new air provost manager provides supervision and oversight of 21st SFS air provost officers as they perform law enforcement and eventually, some home station security duties. These officers exercise the same legal authority as their military counterparts when manning the base's entry control points or patrolling and providing security for facilities across the base. Peterson's pioneer air provost manager is Tim Omdal, a recently retired chief master sergeant and career security forces member. According to Mr. Omdal, he's excited to have another opportunity to serve the Peterson community. "I'm honored to build relationships with our local law enforcement community partners and to help provide the best law enforcement and security services," he said.
