Airmen returning from their area of responsibility with medals and ribbons, and even wild stories to tell their friends, have one more thing to do before they take a well-deserved break. Airmen should fill out a Hometown News release.

Filling out the news release takes less than 10 minutes and in a few sentences can do more to celebrate the Air Force and Airmen than an expensive radio or television commercial. By sending news home, Airmen have an opportunity to connect directly with friends and family and it is a positive way to tell the Air Force story.

Hometown News releases are one of the best advertisement tools the Air Force has because no one can translate the story quite like an Airman. Community members are proud of their servicemembers and Hometown News is a way that lets them celebrate their military members. Hometown News releases can also be used to let those back home know about promotions, permanent change of station, or any other type of newsworthy event. To fill out a release, go to the Peterson Air Force Base Web site at http://www.peterson.af.mil/library/21stswpa/index.asp, or contact the 21st Space Wing Public Affairs Office at 556-5185 for information.
