Staff Sgt. Darlene Tydingco, 21st Comptroller Squadron, noncommissioned officer in-charge of special actions, was selected for this week's First Knight award. Sergeant Tydingco is from Umatac, Guam and had served in the Air Force for 4 years. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the 21st SW mission? As a member of the 21st CPTS, we finance the fight!

What do you most enjoy abut serving in the Air Force? The Air Force has provided me the opportunity to travel, meet many different people and create lasting friendships.

If you were Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force for one day, what would you change? I would enforce the military customs and courtesies for both on and off duty Airmen. There are many Airmen old and young, who have lost the importance and reasoning behind basic military bearing.

Why selected: "Sergeant Tydingco is the consummate NCO - a polished professional and absolute role model for our young Airmen. She makes us proud to serve alongside her every day and is truly a First Knight!" - Maj. Jason Corrothers, 21st CPTS commander.
