Senior Airman Anthony Suemai, 21st Medical Operations Squadron aerospace medical technician, was selected for this week's First Knight award. Airman Suemai is from Anchorage, Alaska, and has served in the Air Force for three years. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day.

What's your favorite thing about being in the Air Force?
The camaraderie and the leadership that cares about its people.

How has joining the Air Force impacted your life? It's given me the chance to meet people from different walks of life. I've been blessed to have, and have had, awesome supervisors who have inspired me to be the best at what I do.

If you were Chief of Staff of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?
I'd have strict punishment rules on those who purposely get out of deployment taskings. I'd also have thorough investigations with polygraph machines to ensure that we punish those who deserve it.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
Knowing that if I should deploy my family is looked after.

How does your Air Force Specialty contribute to the 21st SW mission?
As a medic, I ensure that Peterson Airmen are deployment ready. I also help ensure that our Airmen are healthy and fit to complete the mission and deploy.

What do you personally bring to the fight every day? I consistently persevere.

Why selected: "Airman Suemai displays the Air Force core values and dedication to the mission daily, both on and off duty. He is a role model for others to emulate and strives for excellence in everything he does," said Senior Master Sgt. Mark Bronson, 21st MDOS superintendent.
