Staff Sgt. Deondray Wesley, 21st Operations Support Squadron space control tactician, was selected for this week's First Knight award. Sergeant Wesley is from Carson, Calif., and has served in the Air Force for nearly nine years. This award is designed to recognize outstanding Airmen each week for the work they do every day.

What do you most enjoy about serving in the Air Force?
The camaraderie I share with the people I work with

What do you bring to the fight every day?

As a space control tactician I develop tactics, techniques and procedures to exploit and defeat adversary capabilities.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the 21st Space Wing mission?
By developing tactics, techniques and procedures, I enable the 21st Space Wing to conduct precise and disciplined space control operations.

If you were Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force for one day, what would you change?
I would explore a way to minimize the consecutive amount of deployments our Airmen endure. We have to continue to find a way to take care of our most valuable resource - our people.

Why selected: "Sergeant Wesley is a hard-charging NCO who continues to produce exceptional results. He is a subject matter expert in the space control mission area who is highly sought after for everything from answering simple taskers to by-name requests to support major theater exercises." --  Lt. Col. Troy Endicott, 21st SW Operations Support Squadron commander
