Tierra Vista opens self help store Published May 27, 2010 By Meryl Large Actus Lend Lease PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The Tierra Vista Self Help Store is now open for residents, providing a host of tools, lawn and garden equipment and household items to help make move-ins and move-outs more manageable, and at no cost. Located on Vincent Street, facing the base chapel on the east side of the old Peterson BX building, the Tierra Vista Self Help Store will provide residents the following supplies at absolutely no cost. Residents interested in obtaining any of the following items should come by the self help store or call the maintenance line in order to put in a request. Residents are responsible for picking up the items from the self help store. · Grass seed - one bag per quarter · HVAC filter - as needed · Top soil - two bags per quarter · Fertilizer - two bags per quarter · Fluorescent light bulbs - one for one exchange The following items may be checked out for three calendar days, and need to be picked up from the Self Help Store: · Push lawn mower, shovel, rake, and small hand tools · Hand dolly to move bulky items Due to high demand, the following item may be checked out for one calendar day. Residents will be responsible for picking up this item: · Vacuum, carpet steam cleaner with soap, broom, and mop All equipment loaned to residents through the self help store will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Residents are reminded to please return the equipment in clean and good working condition for the next family to use.
