'One Revolution' up Mount Kilimanjaro

The 21st Force Support Squadron is holding Festival in the Community featuring an 84-minute documentary “One Revolution,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the base auditorium. One Revolution is about Chris Waddell’s attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro using a hand cycle. Waddell, a former Paralympic athlete, will attend the film screening along with the film’s director, Amanda Stoddard, for a question and answer session after the film. Admission is free.

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 21st Force Support Squadron is holding Festival in the Community featuring an 84-minute documentary "One Revolution," at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the base auditorium. One Revolution is about Chris Waddell's attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro using a hand cycle. Waddell, a former Paralympic athlete, will attend the film screening along with the film's director, Amanda Stoddard, for a question and answer session after the film. Admission is free.

Waddell, winner of 13 Paralympic medals, is an ambassador for the International Paralympic Committee and a commentator for the web channel ParalympicSport.TV. He is currently training for the Honolulu Marathon Dec. 11.

In addition to the One-Revolution Foundation, which creates and provides hand cycles to Africa's disabled community, Waddell created an education program called Nametags, which pushes students to question the labels they place on themselves and others.

Festival in the Community is a community outreach program of the Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival Nov. 4-6, in Colorado Springs. Now in its 24th year, the RMWFF is the longest continuous running women's film festival in North America. For information, go to http://www.rmwfilmfest.org/.
