Mr. Jody Dice, Space Delta 8 - Satellite Communications and Navigational Warfare, 8th Combat Training Squadron information technology specialist, is being recognized for 40 years of civilian service with the U.S. government.

The Length of Service Recognition Program awards years of tenure in the federal service with a certificate and emblem at five or ten year intervals. Dice was recognized and received his gold certificate on March 18, 2022.

“Forty years ago, being an IT Specialist was not something I was pursuing,” explained Dice. “Working with computers was just a hobby for me. “The support I received from my wife and kids, as well as working with some amazing and talented people helped steer my career choices.”

Dice went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in information technology management and a master’s degree in computer science. He currently provides a variety of technical support ranging from determining IT equipment and software requirements and purchasing, to leading projects for application development.

“Mr. Dice’s dedication and drive have been essential to the functionality of all that we do,” said Dice’s supervisor Tyrone Clark, DEL 8, 8th CTS technical director. “I can’t begin to tell you how invaluable his knowledge of programming and information technology has been for the success of this squadron. I sincerely hope he knows that we appreciate his continued efforts and hard work.”

When asked about the secret to his longevity and success, Dice went on to explain, “The bottom line to a long and successful career is truly believing what you do is important. What I do supports the mission.”
