PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Fire Prevention Week kicked off when the Peterson-Schriever Garrison commander, Col. James E. Smith, signed the initiation on Oct. 2, 2020. The Fire and Emergency Services from Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever AFB and Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station will host a fun-filled week of activities stressing the importance of kitchen fire safety. Highlights include a base housing parade, a fire muster, auto extrication demonstration, a turkey fryer demo and a Child Development Center coloring contest incentive ride.

- 6:30 – 8:00 a.m.: Sparky greets visitors at the west gate
- 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.: Fire prevention bag handouts at the main child development center
Tuesday, Oct. 6:
- 10:00 – 10:30 a.m.: Fire prevention bag handouts at the east child development center
- 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.: Kick-off parade in base housing
Wednesday, Oct. 7:
- 6:30 – 8:00 a.m.: Sparky greets visitors at the north gate
- 3:30 – 4:00 p.m.: Fire prevention bag handouts at the Youth Center
Thursday, Oct. 8:
- 6:30 – 8:00 a.m.: Sparky greets visitors at the east gate
